7.2.1 Scope

The scope and methods used in the assessment were consistent with the Outlook Reports in 2009,3 2014 4 and 2019.5 Management activities of all relevant Australian and Queensland government agencies, and other partners and stakeholders, that contribute to the protection and management of the Region were considered. As such, the scope was broader than an examination of the management responsibilities of the Reef Authority.

Actions of all relevant parties responsible for protection and management of the Region were considered

The assessment examined management activities within the Region, and in areas external to the Region, that influence the Region’s ecosystem and heritage values. For external factors, such as climate change, the assessment primarily considered management activities specifically to protect and manage the Region. It also broadly considered climate change initiatives at state, national and global levels that are relevant to the values of the Region.

Management activities both inside and outside of the Region are examined
