4.1 Background

The assessment in this chapter is based on four components of heritage. These include three components which consider the Region’s heritage values (natural, Indigenous and historic heritage values), some of which extend beyond the Region’s boundary. These values align with the national heritage domains.5,1062 The fourth component considers other heritage values, and these are attributes of heritage significance (social, aesthetic and scientific) (Figure 4.1). The combined assessment of these values is the same as the previous Outlook Reports.
